Sundays

Sunday Worship at TPC

Sundays at Trinity are centered around our worship service. Our service each week seeks to be God-centered, God-directed, and God-glorifying; anchored in the historical richness of tradition; understandable by today's culture; focused on the grace of God; and making use of the means of grace of the Word, sacraments, and prayer. We would love to have you join us! You will find us at 2577 Schaeffer Lane NE, just east of Century High School, off Viola Road, in Rochester, Minnesota.

What to Expect & Things to Know

Once you arrive you will be greeted in a relaxed and welcoming way. Our greeters will be happy to answer any questions you have including the location of the restrooms and sanctuary.

Our Worship Service

Bulletins will be printed and placed on each chair. We will continue using the current bulletin format which enables us to print hymns and Scripture readings in the bulletin. There will be no hymnals or Bibles available in the chairs. Please feel free to bring your own Bible with you. The first several pages contain the “liturgy” (the word simply means “plan”) that we follow during the service. Everything you need to know about our worship service is contained in these pages.

Communion

We usually conclude our services almost every week with the Lord’s Supper. Wine, grape juice, and gluten-free bread are used. We invite to the Lord’s Table all baptized Christians who are members of TPC or another evangelical church. Those participating acknowledge that they are in covenant with God and an active member of a congregation in which the gospel is faithfully confessed, taught, and believed. They also acknowledge that they are sinners, without hope except in the sovereign mercy of God, and that they are trusting in Jesus Christ alone for salvation. If you have questions about participating, please feel free to speak with an elder before or after the service.

Children

We believe God calls us to nurture and disciple our children in the faith. One of the ways we do this is through corporate worship, and we welcome to keep your children with you during the service. We also offer a nursery for kids ages birth through age three. Additionally, there is a private room within the sanctuary (north side) for nursing moms. The foyer can be used for children who are crying or need some extra attention. Both places have speakers which will enable you to hear the service.

During the school year, at our usual 11am worship service, children ages four through Kindergarten who are potty-trained may attend a Children’s Worship program. This program provides a place for this small subset of our children to learn about what we do in the worship service. Those who are interested in participating may leave the morning worship service at the designated time and meet the Children’s Worship leaders in the foyer where they will be led to a classroom in the education wing.

What to Wear

We don’t have a dress code at Trinity. People who attend come from many different kinds of backgrounds. You will see a variety of attire including some in suits and ties and others in T-shirts and jeans. Please wear what seems appropriate and comfortable for you.

Coffee & Fellowship

Please plan to stay after the service and enjoy some coffee or tea during our fellowship time. This is a relaxed time when people visit, catch up with old friends, and meet new people. Feel free to browse our Bookwall and visit with others in the foyer and hallways.

Our Christian Education Program

At Trinity we believe growing in faith and maturity is very important. One of the ways we encourage growth in our knowledge and love for the Lord is through weekly classes offered on Sunday mornings during the school year. We have classes offered for every age group from three years to adults. You can find more information about the class locations at the Welcome Center or by asking one of the greeters, elders, or deacons. We have robust child protection policies and procedures which you can view here .

Special Food Allergen Warning

Because some in our congregation have life-threatening allergies, ALL OF TRINITY is a nut and peanut-free zone.
